Then it begins and there is an instant frenzy, promising to take the audience on a cinematic journey that will leave them breathless. That frustration struggled to survive in 2013's The Great Gatsby, but Luhrmann bounced back in "Elvis," a non-biographical version of the story. His long struggle with his boss, Colonel Tom Parker. "Elvis" is a lot, and what Luhrmann likes about it is, panning the screen with unparalleled vision, acting, and energy, trying to recreate Elvis' tumultuous life, he's oddly confused. At minute 159, Luhrmann uses his running time to create a storm of emotion and information and tries to treat the Elvis story as a popular event with a sadistic side.
